Wen Gum Gum: Mind the Mindless
The catalogue Mind the Mindless draws from internet imagery and daily observations to explore gender, bodily transformation, and media representation. Using “bodiless figures,” the works capture characters absorbed in their own moments, with fluorescent green and deep black contrasts, paper fragments, and brush marks adding texture. The exhibition unfolds from conceptual sketches to transformations and stacked human towers, ending with playful language and title games. Continuing Wen Gum Gum’s “Bad Painting” approach since 2016, the catalogue combines queer aesthetics and contemporary image critique, using humor and reflection to reconsider everyday life, desire, gender, and the body.
溫佳寧個展《分心的種類 Mind the Mindless》畫冊以網路影像與日常觀察為起點，探索性別、身體變形與媒體造型的多重可能性。作品以「無身體人物」的視覺語言呈現人物專注於自身事物的瞬間，螢光綠與深黑的色彩對比、紙屑與塗抹痕跡增添觸感。展覽空間從思考圖集到變身與疊人塔，再到語言與標題遊戲，形成完整敘事。畫冊延續藝術家自2016年以來「壞繪畫」理念，融合酷兒與當代圖像批評，以幽默與反思重新檢視日常、慾望、性別與身體界限，展現其獨特創作實踐。
