Wen Chia-Ning / Wen Gum Gum (b. 1994, Hsinchu, Taiwan) lives and works in Taipei. She holds a BFA and MFA in Painting from Taipei National University of the Arts and studied media art at Merz Akademie, Germany.

Practicing as an artist, designer, and independent publisher across painting, imagery, and video installation, she positions her work as research and image intervention to challenge dominant structures of seeing. Grounded in Camp sensibility and absurd narrative, her practice subverts aesthetic hierarchies and gender frameworks. Inspired by digital imagery of deformed bodies that are unsexy yet objectified, she translates online fragments into a dynamic dialogue between screen and paintbrush. Within displaced compositions, she probes figurative representation, turning deformed bodies into sites of queer resistance and defamiliarization while continuously engaging Camp, painting, appropriation, visual essay, and gender performativity as core keywords in her practice.

A finalist for the 3rd CTBC Painting Prize (2025) with her painting series We Are More Similar Than Different, she received support from the Tianmei Art Foundation along with Visual Arts Creation Grants from the National Culture and Arts Foundation (2024, 2026). Selected solo exhibitions include Mind the Mindless (Yáo, Taichung, 2025), Of Mice and Women (YIRI ARTS, Taipei, 2023), and Good Will Hunting (FreeS Art Space, Taipei, 2022). Her works have been exhibited in Taipei, Manila, Copenhagen, and Germany. Her independent publishing and videos include presenting the zine Depressed Cart at HFBK Hamburg (2024), and exhibiting the video work Love Your Time at the Kuandu Museum of Fine Arts (2019) and the Busan Biennale (2024).
